Entrances ad Exits (March 2007)
Mick Gordon has an established international reputation as an experimental theatre-maker. He was Associate Director under Trevor Nunn at the Royal National Theatre (2001-2003), Artistic Director at The Gate Theatre. A protégé of Peter Brook, he has among other awards been recipient of the Critics Circle Most Promising Newcomer Award and the Peter Brook Award for Most Outstanding Theatre.
Mick established On Theatre with the express aim of developing vital new forms of theatre that could explore the fundamental preoccupations of modern life with passion and intelligence. To this end, he has developed the idea of the theatre essay, a form of theatre, which, as with a written essay, takes a theme and a question as its starting point. To date On Theatre has produced theatre essays, On Love, On Love in Uzbekistan, On Ego, On Religion and On Death.
